What tutoring tools do I need for my child’s online tutoring?

There is a lot of software and a few hardware items a teacher/tutor will need to have in order for their students to be able to engage in the activities planned. As for the students, a lot of online tutoring is done through instant messengers such as Google Hangouts, Zoom, or Skype, so if you do not have a headset and camera for your child’s computer, those will need to be bought/rented.

With all this said, there should be at least a webcam and a microphone available for the students. A keyboard is helpful as well, but not always necessary. If you do not have all this equipment when your child is set to start their tutoring session, your child can still join the session and participate through a phone or laptop with speakers/webcam.
